 Who Needs a License?

 Who Doesn’t Need a License?

No license is required for license-free walkie-talkies that operate in specific frequency bands:

  • 446.0–446.2 MHz (PMR frequency) under low power (0.5 W ERP)

  • These are meant for short-range, personal, or business use

  • Devices must be type-approved by WPC

 Types of Licenses Issued by WPC

  1. Non-Network License (NL):

    • For short-range wireless communication within premises

    • Common for event organizers, hotels, etc.

  2. Network License:

    • For organizations requiring a private network over a wider area

  3. Amateur Wireless Telegraph Station License:
